Iraq fails to convince Iran to supply electricity


Minister of Electricity Qassem Mohammad Fahdawi, the failure of the delegation, which headed to the Iranian capital Tehran to persuade the Iranian side to continue to supply Iraq with electricity through the lines of imports.

Fahdawi said in a statement that the ministry had drawn up an alternative plan to import electricity from Iran after the Iranian side declared it was unable to return the four import lines back to service.

A ministerial delegation headed by Minister of Electricity Qasem Mohammad al-Fahdawi arrived last Friday in Tehran to hold a number of high-level meetings with Iranian government officials in general and officials of the Iranian Ministry of Energy in particular to discuss the re-import of electric power lines from Iran to work.
