Iran announces its trade exchange with Iraq and sets a future goal


The Iranian ambassador in Baghdad, Erj Musjidi, said that the volume of trade exchange between his country and Iraq last year reached more than 13 billion and 210 million dollars.

“Iran is Iraq’s second trading partner after Turkey,” Musjedi said at a meeting of his country’s cultural committee, adding that “6.5 billion dollars of this volume is related to non-oil goods, where Iran has ranked first among all of Iraq’s trading partners.

“Our aim is to expand relations between Iran and Iraq in all fields, including culture,” Musjedi said. “Culture has returned, the most successful tool to lay the foundations of relations between the governments of Iran and Iraq and their peoples.

He pointed to the role of the visit of forty in recent years in the strengthening of relations between the two countries, stressing the need for planning and programming to provide the best services to visitors.
