The Ministry of Transport returned the decision of the Council of Ministers on the authority of aviation that it intersects with Iraqi legislation, while confirming that it reserves the right to defend its laws.
The ministry said that despite the failure of the Minister of Transport, this day, to attend the meetings of the Council of Ministers because of his illness, the Council issued a resolution that intersects completely with two of the most powerful Iraqi legislation, the first of which the Law of the Ministry of Transport No. (8) for the year 1994, (148) of 1974
The Ministry added that it is surprising that the decision of the Council of Ministers exceeded these two laws, and decided to separate the Aviation Authority from the Ministry of Transport, without taking the opinion of the Minister objecting in a previous meeting on the decision of dismissal
Transport Minister Kazem Fangan directed the transfer of the Director General of Civil Aviation, Abbas Amran, to the General Company for Passenger Transport and Delegations with the same function.
With the support of Prime Minister Haider Al-Abbadi, Minister of Transport Kazem Fangan carried out the order to transfer the Director-General of Civil Aviation Abbas Omran to the General Company for Passenger Transport and Delegations with the same function and replace it with its General Manager Abdullah Laibi Bahad
