Negotiations to merge the world’s largest retailers

Negotiations between the world’s two largest retail stores, J. Sainsbury and Wal-Mart Asda, have reached an advanced stage to merge into a £ 10 billion deal, equivalent to $ 13 billion and $ 829 million.
The final deal will be announced early next Monday, or before that date, if the two sides have to legislate the process of disclosing the details of the deal to the public, global sources familiar with the negotiations said.

The merger will create a strong competitor to Tesco, the dominant retailer in the UK, and will help the two integrated companies invest in offering more products to consumers at competitive prices.
