The General Company for Cereal Trade in the Ministry of Commerce announced on Sunday the adoption of 55 marketing centers to receive the wheat crop from farmers and marketers in all governorates for the season 2018.
“The marketing centers that have been approved include silos, warehouses, bunkers and cisterns, including fixed marketing centers, including marketing centers that were adopted during the marketing season to ease the burden on farmers and marketers,” said Naim al-Makassousi, general manager of the company.
“The distribution of the opening of the marketing centers was based mainly on the expected production volume in each governorate according to the expectations of the Ministry of Agriculture, which was distributed between one marketing center in Karbala, Basra, Muthana and Kirkuk, and two marketing centers in Anbar, Diyala, Dhi Qar and Maysan. (Sulaymaniyah, Erbil and Dohuk), four centers in Nineveh and Babel, five marketing centers in Baghdad and Salah al-Din and six marketing centers in Wasit province.
“The Supreme Marketing Committee has the right to open or close any marketing center according to the requirements of the necessary need,” he said, adding that his company opened the doors of its marketing centers in the center and south to farmers and farmers to collect the quantities that were harvested.
