The first service project linking four countries with Iraq was launched

Egypt succeeded in launching the first international landline linking it to Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Major General Saad Attia, the project’s supervisor for the Egyptian side, revealed that the project includes linking passenger operations in these countries through an integrated system that transfers passengers from Saudi Arabia to Jeddah or Yanbu Saudi ports. Instead of placing the bus on the ferry, The passenger takes the ferry, and when he arrives in Egypt, the Egyptian road transport company takes him to Cairo or any destination within the agreed route.
Attiyah explained that the project contributes to the launch of integrated road transport between the Arab countries, and that the new expansions of mass transit projects inside Egypt will contribute to redrawing the general form of passenger transport.
