The Baghdad International Book Fair was launched under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi under the slogan “We read for Nurtaqi” with the participation of (600) local, Arab and international publishers from 18 countries: Iraq, Britain, Iran, Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Italy, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and India, which will last for ten days, and which will be joined by the Iraqi Publishers Association and the Sada Al-Aref Foundation for Publications, in coordination and cooperation with the General Company for Iraqi Exhibitions, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Of officials.
The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Mahdi Al-Aalak, representative of the Prime Minister that the Baghdad Book Fair is a conflagration to meet writers and writers and an important window through which the intellectuals on science and other cultures through reading, which is a world for the future industry through which to build an educated generation
He added that after the end of the previous session of the Book Fair, there was planning and coordination to achieve part of our aspirations to deliver the products of Iraqi, Arab and global thought and put it on the ground of the Baghdad Book Fair and presented to the audience of readers and writers and an atmosphere of intellectual dialogue with our guests from other countries.
For his part, Director General of the Iraqi Exhibitions Engineer Hashim Mohammad Hatem said that the book fair comes in line with the victories achieved by the armed forces and security services in the liberation of Iraqi territory from gangs organization.
Stressing that this exhibition is a real opportunity for publishing houses to participate in the presentation of publications in Iraq, which deals with all books and cultural and scientific publications and all disciplines to keep abreast of the developments in the world, a message of love and peace to all countries of the world and evidence that Iraqi wellness has returned to normal through openness to science and cultures And to benefit from those sciences in state building.
The president of the Federation of Iraqi Publishers Abdul Wahab Radi said that the events of the exhibition will see the establishment of many conferences and symposiums during this carnival to be a cultural festival distinct in providing the Iraqi culture of new products of scientists and writers, calling universities and faculty and students to visit the exhibition in order to keep abreast of scientific development In various fields in order to benefit from the knowledge and science and the modern science of great developments.
