Basra Governor Asaad al-Eidani announced on Saturday the completion of 70% of the first units of an electric power station in the Rumaila area.
Eidani said in a press statement, that about 70% of the first units of an electric power station was completed in the Rumaila, “noting that” there are promises to enter the service early next summer and the province of Basra.
He added that “an Iranian company is working on most of the work in agreement with an Iraqi company,” describing the project as “excellent and giant and that 90% of this project Iranian production and the highest specifications and will provide the national grid with electricity.”
“The value of this project is two billion five hundred million dollars, which is the first investment of its kind in the production of energy. The company has a desire to work in the field of transport, the company manufactures trains and the metro and in the field of water desalination, oil and gas,” said the project manager.
He added that “70% of the first physics was completed and that the beginning of next summer will start the initial operation,” noting that “the total capacity of the plant is 3,000 megawatts of power production.”
