The tenth planting week begins at the Baghdad International Fair

The General Company for Exhibitions and Commercial Services in the Ministry of Commerce announced on Wednesday the launch of the tenth planting week and the tree day for the period from 14 to 21/3/2018, on the ground of Baghdad International Fair under the slogan (to make Iraq a green oasis).
Minister of Agriculture Falah Hassan Al-Lahibi said during his speech at the opening ceremony that “the activities of the tenth planting week and the tree day were launched for the period from 14 to 21/3/2018, on the ground of the Baghdad International Fair under the slogan (to make Iraq a green oasis) Is one of the most important means of communication with the outside world, so the ministry was keen to establish these scientific events to promote the agricultural sector in Iraq, in addition to the presentation of the activities of the Ministry and public and private sector companies and investors and related parties in the agricultural sector to see these products.
He added that “the agricultural sector reflected positively on the environmental situation in addition to eliminating the phenomenon of unemployment and reduce the import of foreign goods and support the national product and preserve the hard currency and develop the economy of the country.”
For his part, the Director General of the Department of Economic and Foreign Relations, Adel Masoudi, who represented the director of the exhibition company, said that “the exhibition of agriculture and food is the largest international gathering witnessed by the agricultural sector in Iraq, where it aims to support the agricultural sector and to learn about agricultural techniques and attract modern investment projects in this area” .
Masoudi pointed out that “the exhibits displayed in the exhibition include modern technologies, agricultural mechanization, modern irrigation systems, packaging, livestock and agricultural protected and fertilizers as well as electrical equipment and food.”
