Haider Al Abadi announces the reopening of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah airports in front of international flights

Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi announced on Tuesday the reopening of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah airports for international flights following the response of local authorities in the Kurdistan region to restore the federal authority to the two airports.
“The Prime Minister, Dr. Haider Abadi, during his meeting with the officers of the Ministry of Interior working in the airports of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, confirmed his signature after the response of the Danish authorities in the Kurdistan region to restore the federal authority to the two airports mentioned in accordance with the Constitution, To “the reopening of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah airports for international flights.”
The statement added that “in order to facilitate the travel of citizens through the airports of Arbil and Sulaymaniyah international, and the creation of a special protection Directorate on the airports of the Kurdistan region, the command and control of the Federal Ministry of Interior.”
“A higher committee will be set up to oversee the administration of the airports and its competitor, and to ensure compliance with federal standards, including representatives of all concerned authorities in the center and the region and report to the commander-in-chief of the armed forces or his entourage.”
