The Ministry of Agriculture announced on Wednesday that it will start on Saturday with the campaign of planting 2000 olive trees in the center of the city of Hilla and the ancient city of Babylon.
The ministry said it was “preparing to cooperate with the Directorate of Agriculture of Babylon to initiate a campaign to plant 2000 olive trees within the center of the city of Hilla and the ancient city of Babylon,” indicating that “the campaign of afforestation comes in support of the campaign of Babylon world heritage.”
The ministry said in a statement received Alsumaria News a copy of it, “The campaign will be launched from the Directorate of Agriculture Directorate in Babel as of Saturday.”
Most of the Iraqi provinces suffer from the lack of afforestation in the main streets and sub-areas, in addition to the lack of natural fenders, causing the rise of dust continuously, especially in the summer.
