The Tax Authority works to publish electronic payment tools at the commercial centers to collect sales tax


The General Tax Authority announced that it is working to provide tax infrastructure through the deployment of electronic payment tools in shopping centers and shops to collect sales tax of 10%.
“The proposed sales tax in the 2018 budget is not imposed on professionals, but is deducted from the consumer,” Abbas said. “Taxation will diversify the economy, reduce the non-oil deficit and thus reduce the country’s dependence on oil.”
“We are working to provide tax infrastructure by deploying electronic payment tools in the market to collect sales tax,” she said.
