Nasiriyah International Airport has announced an increase in flights to 14 flights per week, showing an increase in passengers from four neighboring provinces.
The Director of Airport Administration Haider Zamili said that the airport of Nasiriyah, since the beginning of this year has seen a large turnout in the number of passengers, including travelers from the provinces of Wasit, Maysan, Muthana and Diwaniya.
“The number of flights from the airport has increased to 14 flights a week back and forth, and work is continuing with the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Transport to increase the number of flights from the airport.”
He added that “the management of the airport has received the initial approval to increase the number of flights to Tehran and Mashhad two flights a week instead of one trip.”
Zamili said it would be “two flights to Tehran on Saturday and Sunday, one trip to Mashhad for Iran every Wednesday, a trip to Erbil and three trips to Baghdad.”
