Transport Minister Kazem Vajan al-Hammami said that flights between Baghdad and Baku, the Azerbaijani capital, will return to normal schedule starting today after the forms have been solved and the flight of the hijacked plane has been released after checking the safety of its cargo.
Al-Hamami said in a statement to the ministry on Thursday that the Ministry of Transport has made great efforts to complete all procedures for launching the aircraft as soon as possible and under his personal supervision so as not to disrupt the interests of travelers between the two countries.
“Iraq is seeking to have its relations with the world’s countries equal and the delay of the flights came at the decision of the Civil Aviation Authority of Azerbaijan,” he said.
He called for “intensive work and more understanding to stimulate tourism between the two countries.”
