Governor of Kirkuk: The transfer of oil from Iraq to Iran will begin this month

Iraq will start exporting oil from fields north of Kirkuk to Iran this month at a rate of 60,000 bpd, Kirkuk Governor Rakan al-Jubouri said on Monday.
In a press statement, Jabouri made the remarks during the Kuwait Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq.
Iraq agreed with Iran in December to swap up to 60,000 barrels per day of crude produced from Kirkuk with Iranian oil for delivery in southern Iraq, with the transfer of oil by truck to Kermanshah in Iran.
The transfer was due to begin in late January and oil officials declined to state the reasons for the delay, but it was due to a technical reason.
Iraqi forces began a security operation along the planned route of oil transfers last week to evacuate the area from armed groups.
