Egypt’s first crude oil shipments contracted by Egypt last month will arrive next Thursday (February 15th), the chief executive of the Egyptian General Petroleum Authority (EPA) said on Monday.
Reuters quoted the men as telling reporters on the sidelines of an oil conference in Cairo that the first contracted Iraqi oil shipment would arrive in Egypt at the end of the week on Thursday, adding that Egypt renewed the contract for the purchase of crude oil from Iraq in January for a year.
Egypt reached an agreement with Iraq in April 2017 under which Baghdad sells 12 million barrels of oil to Egypt for a year after Saudi Aramco stopped supplying Egypt with oil in October 2016. It then supplied 700,000 tons Per month of petroleum materials at the end of last March.
