Assistant to the Egyptian President will visit Baghdad to discuss Egypt’s participation in the reconstruction of Iraq


The Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram on Saturday unveiled an official visit to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on top of a high-level ministerial delegation on January 22 for a four-day visit to discuss Egypt’s participation in the reconstruction of Iraq.
“The visit comes within the framework of the arrangement for Egypt’s participation in the Kuwait donors’ conference scheduled for next February to mobilize international and regional efforts to participate in the reconstruction of Iraq,” the paper quoted sources familiar with the schedule of the visit organized by the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Commerce.
The sources added that “Mahlab and the accompanying delegation, which includes a large number of heads of Egyptian companies will focus in his consultations with the Iraqi side to discuss investment opportunities and trade cooperation, industrial and contracting; especially that Iraq has already requested assistance to Egypt in the rehabilitation of its industrial sector, which was severely damaged.
