The new Arab newspaper announced the participation of “42 Arab and foreign countries in the conference on the reconstruction of Iraq to be held in Kuwait next month.”
“The most prominent countries are the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Austria, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, Venezuela, Turkey and Kuwait, as well as Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” the government sources said. According to the new Arab newspaper.
“Donor countries will announce at the second session of the conference after the opening of the value of their pledges, which are expected to approximate $ 18 billion, pointing out that the Kuwait grant is likely to reach between 100 and 150 million dollars.
“The reconstruction phase is considered the most important challenge facing the Iraqi government after the liberation of the cities and there is a deliberate plan to restore services to the liberated cities, followed by the stage of reconstruction and rehabilitation of different sectors.”
The conference comes after donations by Kuwait in mid-2016 to establish medical centers, schools and hospitals in a number of cities of Iraq, including Basra, Baghdad, Salahuddin, Anbar and other areas.
The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Mahdi Al-Alak said during a press conference with Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Al-Jarallah, “The vital facilities in the cities and liberated areas need to 100 billion dollars.”
