The Department of Petroleum Contracts and Licenses in the Ministry of Oil announced the qualification of (5) new international companies of different nationalities out of (8) companies submitted to qualify for participation in the project of exploration, development and production of border exploration patches announced by the ministry.
Asim Jihad, a spokesman for the ministry, said in a press interview that the newly qualified companies will participate with the international companies qualified in the previous licensing rounds of 21 international companies of different nationalities Arab, Asian, European and American, will participate in the competition for the project of exploration, development and production (9) And sea.
Jihad added that the Department of Petroleum Contracts and Licenses has adopted four basic criteria to qualify companies to participate in the competition for the project (financial and economic standard, legal standard, technical standard and training and the standard of health, safety and environment). He pointed out that the companies submitted their documents for the period from 15 August 2017 to 9 November 2017, The number of companies submitted for qualification (8) companies, explaining that the documents submitted by companies were studied by the Ministry within the controls and rules in force and qualified (5) companies, which applied controls.
During his press conference in November 2017, Oil Minister Jabbar Ali Al-Luaibi reviewed the joint border explorations with Kuwait and Iran. He called on all international companies to invest and participate in the exploration, development and production of nine border pits.
The exploratory patches include Khadr al-Yam, Jabal Sinam and Faw, located on the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border, and the exploratory plains located on the Iraqi-Iranian border are Sinbad and include the Sinbad 1 and Sindbad 2 fields and the Huweizah. It includes the installation of the southern and Shiite Hawizah, Zarbatiya and Zarbatia and Tariq , And the oil field and includes the fields of Mandali, Habib installation, Tal Ghazl, Hattab, Nazardak, Saadia, Khana oil, obstacle, Naudoman), stressing that these patches fall within the land boundaries.
The offshore exploratory patches were the Gulf patch that lies within Iraqi territorial waters in the Gulf.
