Oil Minister Jabbar Ali Al-Allaibi said that the total exports of the gas invested for the year 2017 amounted to 29 shipments of gas condensates and 51 shipments of liquid gas.
The quantities of condensate exported amounted to 677,885 thousand cubic meters. In the case of liquid gas, the quantities exported amounted to 143,667 thousand metric tons, pointing out that the quantities were exported from the southern ports in Khor al-Zubair through Basra Petroleum Company.
He noted that these achievements in the export of gas and condensates confirms the Ministry’s keenness and ambitious plans to optimize the gas associated with the production processes, pointing out that the export operations have contributed to support the economy through the provision of financial revenues to the federal treasury.
It is worth mentioning that the Minister of Oil announced earlier this year 2018 to achieve an unprecedented increase in the investment of the gas associated with the oil operations in the Basra gas project by up to (80%) in early January of the new year 2018, and access to investment capacity of this project to the rate ( 900 million cubic meters per day, as well as another increase in the investment of raw gas from the fields of the South Gas Company and the Missan Oil Company to a rate of (230) cubic meters (million standard cubic feet per day).
