Minister of Industry and Minerals Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani discussed with the Tunisian ambassador in Iraq Ibrahim al-Rizki the fields of industrial cooperation and investment opportunities available between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance economic and trade relations between Iraq and Tunisia, in addition to stressing the need to exchange experiences and make use of the available resources.
“The ministry’s desire to develop relations with Tunisia in all industrial fields, especially in the field of electrical and pharmaceutical industries, and to reach agreements for partnership and investment with the ministry’s competent companies, in addition to transferring the Tunisian experience in the field of exploitation of natural resources and investment.
He added that “the economic situation in Iraq is currently facing real challenges, which necessitates reconsidering economic policy and protecting the industrial and agricultural sectors to provide jobs and diversify sources of income through the implementation of laws supporting the local product.” He called on Tunisian companies to participate in exhibitions in Baghdad and intensify visits, Preparing to provide all facilities for Tunisian companies to work in Iraq.
For his part, the Tunisian ambassador expressed the desire of the Tunisian companies to work in Iraq in all fields of industrial and joint cooperation, which contributes to the development of bilateral relations and its readiness to encourage companies and businessmen to work and invest in Iraq.
