The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) held a closing ceremony on the 6th and 7th of this month for the closing workshop in the preparations for the international conference which is scheduled to be held in February 2018 in Kuwait. The International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq and the Development of Iraq for a post-conflict period comes as a fruit of Arab and international cooperation to assume joint responsibility towards the Iraqi people, which pushed terrorism and liberate its territory in succession to regain its place among countries economically and developmentally.
The preparation of the final workshop has witnessed a number of serious discussions on protocol contexts and organizational steps, especially with regard to the aspects of money management for efforts to restore stability, reconstruction and investment opportunities. After presenting the studies to the attendees, which included the study of damage assessment and needs DNA, prepared by the Iraqi Ministry of Planning in cooperation with the World Bank, in addition to a study showed the investment opportunities currently available prepared by the National Investment Authority with the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank, the participants expressed their views and comments After paying tribute to the clear role and effort of the Iraqi government and its seriousness in overcoming the current crisis in every way possible.
The Iraqi government after the launch of an international initiative Kuwait to establish this conference and under the guidance of Prime Minister Dr. Haidar al-Abadi, formed the national team for the preparation and follow-up of the conference and its outputs under the chairmanship of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers d. Mahdi Al-Alak and membership of the Chairman of the Advisory Board d. Abdul Karim Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Reconstruction Fund for the areas affected by terrorist operations d. The head of the Arab Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the head of the Iraqi Fund for Foreign Development in the Ministry of Finance and the Director of the Office of Information and Government Communication in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
