The Council of Ministers held its regular session on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi. The Council voted to amend the date of the elections to 12 May 2018 instead of 15 May.
“The council discussed some important issues in the country and the council voted on a number of important decisions,” the statement said. He also voted to authorize the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to sign the contract of participation with Al-Fayhaa Oil Services Company to start building the required plant in Basrah province for the purpose of treating and destroying chemical waste using modern and safe technologies for the purpose of generating environmentally friendly outputs according to the Iraqi environmental determinants.
The Council of Ministers directed that the Ministry of Displacement and Migration in coordination with the relevant authorities prepare a plan to return the displaced to the district of Tuz Khurmato in the form of meals in coordination with the security forces and popular mobilization forces in the region.
The Council also voted on the recommendations of the Supreme Committee for the implementation of Article 15 of the Federal Budget Law for the year 2016 on expanding the opening of private investment.
The Cabinet also voted to authorize the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance to negotiate and sign the loan for additional emergency development operations.
