Minister of Planning and Minister of Commerce Dr. Salman Al-Jumaili discussed with Tunisian Ambassador in Baghdad Ibrahim Al-Rizki ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in the economic and investment fields
Jumaili stressed during the meeting that the relations between Iraq and Tunisia are long and distinguished and there are many data that can be used to strengthen these relations and develop them to the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
Pointing to the possibility of increasing the volume of trade exchange and opening up tourist horizons, calling on Tunisian companies to benefit from the investment opportunities available in Iraq under the direction of the Iraqi government to promote investment, especially in the field of reconstruction of liberated areas.
Adding that there is an opportunity to strengthen relations between the two countries through joint meetings between businessmen and investors from both countries and the establishment of joint exhibitions in order to see the possibilities and opportunities available in Iraq and Tunisia.
For his part, Tunisian Ambassador Ibrahim Rizki stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations, especially in the field of increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries and there are many goods and commodities that can constitute a distinctive balance of trade exchange.
Expressing the desire and readiness of Tunisian companies to enter and invest in the Iraqi market, given the possessions possessed by good potential in the field of oil and infrastructure.
Al-Rizki called for activating the work of the joint Tunisian-Iraqi committee, headed by the trade ministers of both countries, because the work of this committee would open new horizons for joint cooperation.
