The Spanish ambassador to Iraq, Juan Jose Scobar, said that Iraq has become a safe place to work and the entry of foreign companies to invest in it.
“The most important task is to encourage trade between Iraq and Spain,” Skobar said in an interview with the Iraqi media. “The war in Iraq has affected trade and has fallen very dramatically this year.”
He pointed out that “Spain participated in the Baghdad International Fair last session in addition to organizing a meeting between Iraqi and Spanish businessmen,” adding that “the challenge now is to persuade Spanish companies to be in Iraq and invest in it after it has become a natural and safe place.”
He explained that “Iraq needs to develop the private sector and this is through the private banking sector.”
