The General Company for Iraqi Ports, announced Wednesday, the transfer of berths of the port of Faw to invest for the construction of docks and unloading stations, indicating that three large companies have submitted to invest.
A spokesman for the ports company, Enmar Al-Safi said in a press statement that “the General Company for Ports and after the completion of the breakwater in the eastern port of Faw, referred to the construction of berths in the port to investment.”
He added that “three major companies made to invest is Daewoo Korean company and a group of Chinese companies and another Iraqi company in alliance with a foreign company,” adding that “the proposals were referred to the Tender Evaluation Committee to be selected the best offer.”
He pointed out that “ports required the offer to build berths and unloading stations for ships,” pointing out that “the draft port of Faw includes the construction of 100 berths to unload cargoes and laying the ships.”
