Iraqis have led the real estate market in Jordan during the last ten months of this year, ahead of many Arab nationalities, both in the number of transactions carried out or investment value.
According to a statistical report by the Jordan Lands and Survey Department, Iraqis are ranked first in real estate sales in Jordan during the last ten months of this year with a total of 886 properties, the Saudis ranked second with a total of 494 properties, while the Syrians ranked third with a total of 232 properties.
In terms of value, Iraqi nationality also came first with an investment of $ 194 million and 50% of the estimated value of sales of non-Jordanians. Saudi nationality ranked second with $ 79 million and 20%, while Syrian nationality came third with $ 20 million, 5%.
According to the report, the number of real estate sales to non-Jordanian investors during the last ten months of this year was 2295 transactions, including 1692 transactions for apartments and 603 land transactions valued at $ 389 million.
The total sales of real estate in the Kingdom during the past ten months of this year amounted to more than 110 thousand transactions, down by 7% compared to the same period last year 2016.
The number of real estate sales to non-Jordanian investors during the month of October last year of 317 transactions, including 235 transactions for apartments and 82 transactions for land estimated value of about $ 41 million.
According to the monthly report, Iraqi nationality in October sales came first with a total of 132 properties, Saudi nationality ranked second with a total of 92 properties and Syrian nationality with a total of 24 properties.
In terms of value, Iraqi nationality also came first with an investment of about $ 20 million, 48% of the estimated value of non-Jordanian sales, Saudi nationality ranked second with $ 10 million and 25%, Lebanese nationality at third place about $ 3 million, Syrian nationality fourth with an estimated value of about two million dollars and by 5%.
According to the report, the volume of total trading in the Jordanian property market during the last ten months of this year to 7 billion dollars compared to 8 billion dollars for the same period last year.
