Iraqis have continued their acquisition of the real estate market in Jordan during the past eight months of this year, ahead of many nationalities, whether the number of Arab transactions or the value of investment.
According to a statistical report of the Jordanian Lands and Survey Department, Iraqis came in the sales of real estate in the Kingdom during the last eight months of the current year with 668 properties. The Saudi nationality ranked second with a total of 356 properties, while the Syrian nationality ranked third with a total of 191 properties.
The total value of investments reached $ 159 million, 51% of the estimated value of non-Jordanian sales. Saudi nationality ranked second with about $ 65 million and 20%, while Syrian nationality came third with $ 17 million and 5%.
According to the report, the number of sale of the property to non-Jordanian investors in the last eight months of this year 1771 transactions, including 1303 transactions for apartments and 468 land transactions valued at 315 million dollars, down by 7% compared to the same period last year.
The total sales of real estate in the Kingdom during the eight months of the current year amounted to 87163 transactions, a decrease of 10% compared to the same period last year 2016.
According to the monthly report, the number of real estate sales to non-Jordanian investors during the month of August of this year was 295 transactions, including 213 transactions for apartments and 82 land transactions valued at 39 million dollars, a decrease of 20% compared to the same month last year 2016.
The Iraqis also came first with the sale of 116 properties last month, Saudi nationality ranked second with 47 properties, and the Syrian nationality third with a total of 37 properties, and Kuwait with a total of 24 properties.
In terms of value, Iraqis also came first with an investment of $ 25 million and 65% of the estimated value of non-Jordanian sales last August, followed by Saudi nationality of $ 4 million and by 12%, followed by Syrian by $ 2 million and 5%.
According to the report, the volume of total trading in the Jordanian property market during the eight months of this year to 5,687 billion dollars compared to 611.11 billion dollars for the same period last year 2016.
