Iraq bids for 30 thousand tons of rice

The Ministry of Commerce of Iraq, on Sunday, a global tender for the purchase of 30 thousand tons of rice for distribution within the ration card items.
The Iraqi General Grain Trade Company has launched a global tender for the purchase of 30,000 tons of rice from any source in the world, news agencies quoted an Iraqi government source as saying today.
The source said the company had set August 27 as the deadline for bids, without giving further details.
Iraq is one of the largest grain suppliers in the world and annually imports more than 3 million tons of wheat and 1 million tons of rice.
