Oil: Halfaya field will produce 400,000 barrels per day


Oil Minister Jabbar al-Allaibi announced on Sunday that the Halafaya field will reach 400,000 barrels per day after the third stage of its development.
Al-Allaibi said during the laying of the foundation stone for the development of the field of Halafaya oil in the province of Maysan, “The ministry is keen to develop oil fields in the province of Maysan through the implementation of plans and development programs in cooperation with international companies in Iraq as well as the national effort,” noting that “the third and final phase of the project The development program contributes to the production of the peak of 400 thousand barrels per day. ”
He pointed out that “this stage will add 200 thousand barrels per day on the current production of the field, which is currently more than 200 thousand barrels per day, which was achieved thanks to the development stages in the first and second.”
He added that the third stage of the project includes the construction of the treatment complex, which consists of 4 banks of insulation and the installation of heat exchangers and isolates and 4 large tanks capacity of 30 thousand cubic meters, and the establishment of different lines of flow for purposes such as oil, gas and water and the installation of a power plant for the project, Construction of pipelines to transport crude oil, gas and water, construction of buildings for control and management, and so on. ”
It is noteworthy that the field of the Halfaya oil is undergoing major development by the Chinese company Petrojina, which won the development of the field in the second licensing rounds to reach the peak production of 400 thousand barrels per day of oil and the production of large quantities of gas at the end of 2018
